In this podcast, scholars Raheem Kenerly, Benjamin Diamond, and Marvin Silva sat down with Mr. Williams and asked him about coming back to YMLA, football, and in general the current climate of YMLA and even recent hot topics surrounding:
A NEW TRACK.

The Phone Ban:
These scholars were in the 6th grade when Mr. Williams left after 6 years with YMLA. He left his roles as teacher, coach, sponsor, mentor, and leader. During his years here, Mr. Williams was an integral part of our football, basketball, and track teams; he led the district in Algebra I scores and then later, 6th grade math. He dedicated his passion for music and leadership to running Conventus, participating in student-led plays and talent shows, and supporting Student Council! But it all came to an end when he decided to become an assistant principal. At the time, YMLA only had a Dean of Instruction. Mr. Williams’ credentials had outgrown YMLA’s capacity. But not for long! Our former Principal White hired Williams once for his potential. FWISD hired him again because of his history. YMLA’s culture of brotherhood would prove to be second nature to a once TEACHER OF THE YEAR who had in fact spearheaded many of the traditions we hold today! Thank you for accepting the call to return to YMLA! YOU are our future!
