Since its inception (12 years ago), in a campus-wide program, the Renea L. Ruffin Breast Cancer Awareness Ceremony, the Young Men’s Leadership Academy has honored and paid reverence to families and friends who have faced breast cancer. Thousands of dollars in scholarships has been awarded to seniors whose essays respond to the late Nelson Mandela’s claim that “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.”
For the past two years, our entire YMLA community has graced the streets of Stop Six, joining our MI Logan Leadership Academy.
We have made sacred a tree in honor of Makayla Denefield, wife and mother to our very own Alumni from the class of 2020, Mason Denefiled.
And now, we’re committed to doing more!
