Stained Glass Mural

Angel Rodriguez, Writer

During the construction of the new YMLA high school building, Mrs. Schulman and the school had an idea, an idea to make the glass morale of the school logo. The stained-glass mural was made with bits of blue and green stained glass and used a glider to make it look better. The frame of the stained glass mural was made using bits of glass to make the border of the glasswork. Although the stained glass mural is already finished, it wasn’t easy knowing how to make it.

That is when Tara Siegel, an artist from Sinica Studios came in and helped us. She told us the history of glass making and how it is created because it takes a long time to make. Tiffany Frohm district Director of Visual Arts was also there to lend support by giving more information on how glass is in everyday life. If anyone is interested in glass making and its history.
