Command Sergeant Major Oliver has been a loyal staff member at YMLA, although some say he could be rough half the time with his cadets, he has a deep hope for each cadet to have a 100% graduation rate. Oliver is not the person people think he is contrary to popular belief sergeant major is introverted and keeps quiet to himself. He only acts that way towards his cadets because he cares for them and he wants them to be successful.

Sergeant Major Oliver attended War college and Austin P Clarksville, Tennessee. To quote Sergeant Major Olivers principle “I want to learn at least one thing new everyday.” Also he applies this to his cadets, he wants his cadets to learn something new every day especially with the scholarship trackers he wants his cadets to apply for scholarships so they can be ready for college and not pay a single penny.

Oliver is a hard working staff member at the YMLA , he ensures his cadets are pushed to better themselves mentally and physically. To quote Sargent Major Oliver “I love being here at the YMLA and it was better than I expected working with kids.” Sergeant Major Oliver is a big pillar within our community. He is at the campus early in the morning making sure students are inside and safe and stays late after school to make sure everyone gets home safely. Sergeant Major Oliver is not just a staff member, Sergeant major Oliver is a core family member at the YMLA.
