Tony, a senior at YMLA, stands at 5’11” and is known for his love of food, basketball, and watching football. He dreams of getting rich while enjoying life to the fullest. Born on November 10, 2006, Tony grew up in a well-off family as the older brother of three siblings. He has two younger sisters and takes pride in being the best big brother he can be, always trying to set a positive example for them. In addition to his academic life, Tony is actively involved in many extracurricular activities. He plays basketball, attends church, and gives his time to helping senior citizens in his community. These activities not only bring him joy but also help shape his future goals. When it comes to deciding on a college, Tony keeps everyone in the dark saying, “You have to wait for decision day.”
Tony has learned to handle Conflict by praying, listening to music, and trusting that God will take care of things. His classmates typically describe him as a funny guy who genuinely cares for others, liking his go getter mentality. Interestingly, Tony has a deep connection with music; it influences his mood, and he often feels he has an “old soul.” Among his school subjects, reading stands out as a favorite, especially in Mrs. Smith’s class. He appreciates the unique vibe in her classroom, where learning feels engaging. Reflecting on his high school experience, Tony wishes he had taken more classes seriously; he believes that doing so could have bettered his education.
Extracurricular activities have instilled discipline and focus on Tony, pushing him to stay on top of his game. He has learned valuable life lessons during his high school years, such as the importance of being grateful for everyone and everything around him. As for his future, Tony wants to major in physical therapy with a minor in communications, wanting to stay close to the sports he loves, even if he cannot play professionally. In five years, Tony sees himself graduating college and preparing for the next stage of his life. His biggest passions right now are music and physical therapy, and he is determined to pursue them fully. His favorite coach, Coach Lee, has played a significant role in his life, teaching him important lessons both on and off the basketball court.
Throughout his journey at YMLA, Tony’s biggest support has come from his teachers, who have encouraged him through the highs and lows of high school. He advises incoming freshmen to enjoy their time in high school because it goes by quickly, he also reminds them to save money for senior expenses, as they can add up fast. If he could change one thing about himself, Tony would wish to be taller, but he embraces who he is. Finally, he dreams of traveling to the beautiful islands, a place he believes would be the perfect escape. As tony is getting ready to leave YMLA to start his new journey, he begins to try to become a physical therapist or do something in the communication field we all will miss him and all the things that he does in YMLA
