Aaron is a senior at YMLA, he is the class of 2025 President and a former basketball player. He found about this school when he was in his 5th grade year when his teachers wanted to know what school he was going to join. He wishes to become an NFL player but realistically he wants to be a mechanical engineer and will major in it by going to TCU and will get the community scholarship. He lives in a low to mid income family. He said this was the school for him for their partnership with TCU and TCC, he knew he belonged to YMLA when he realized this was the best place to achieve his goals.
He had a great childhood. His favorite past time was helping his dad fixing the cars. He is the oldest of 4, he takes care of them when he is not working, doing student council work, or making sure the class has enough money, and it is prospering with greatness. He is also a representative of the journalism team.
YMLA changed he said that there have been many people that have come and gone, but the biggest change was the school he said, he remembered in 6th grade he was walking into portables and into the middle school building for classes now YMLA has 3 different buildings including the middle school building. He sees himself finishing college and opening his own mechanic shop.
If he could give his 6th grade self advice, he would say “everything is going to be easier and to be calm”. He said he is ready to become an adult but isn’t because he is ready for college and to find new paths, but he said he isn’t ready for paying taxes, house payments, and bills. He said it would take time, but he will be ready in a couple of years.
He is involved in the community in many different ways from working at a food truck to cleaning the streets. He is in JROTC and is the commander of JROTC at YMLA, he is also the President of Student council. Aaron juggles all that while still maintaining his rank in the class and taking care of his college classes. He is not just another person at the school he is a big brother to most of the senior class and many inspire to be like him.
