You may know him as a custodian, you might even see him every other day if not every day. Kenneth Green, also known as Mr. Green, really stays to himself when it comes to the work environment, but there’s a lot about him that we don’t see. To the naked eye, Mr. Green is seen as a quiet guy who lacked personality but he is the complete opposite. When around those who he feels like he can be himself, Green actually talks a lot and makes jokes. He is an honest and humble man who will tell you his full perspective on anything you ask him.
Learning Life at a Young Age
In 1962, Green was born into a large family of 11 children in Fort Worth, where he had a great childhood. He grew up with both his mother and his father who made sure that him and his other siblings had everything that they needed. By 1980, Green was a high school graduate from Poly High School looking for a path in life. Unfortunately, he was also the first and only child to graduate from High School. Although he had some opportunities to go to college, he didn’t feel like it would be his place to go and wanted to go into the military under the Air Force. He met a young lady. Just like many of us have experienced at one point in our lives, Green went down a rather dark area of his life that he was/is not proud of. When asked what got him out of that area, he said the Lord really affected him and pulled him out of it and showed him a better way and turned his life around. After following the Lord on a walk to a better life, Green has been invested in ministry. He wants to be an inspiration to his siblings, especially for the ones who some of them are still struggling to get out of their dark areas.
Green’s Career
Mr. Green is not new to this rodeo for he has been in the district for 30 years. Before coming to the Young Men’s Leadership Academy, he worked at S.S. Dillow. Green’s area supervisor was the one who suggested that YMLA would be a good start with working in a high school environment. At first Green was reluctant because he was so comfortable with the elementary/middle school, but he eventually took the challenge and officially became part of YMLA in February of 2017. When asked what his plans after YMLA were, he said that he would be done working fully into ministry as a pastor. The school and the rest of the district thank Mr. Green for everything he has done and wish him the best future possible.
