My Life, My Story, My Future – Noble Isaiah Breed
May 17, 2022
I reminisce…on my life up to this point – my childhood; sitting around the table with my grandparents, my momma, and my brothers.
Times with my family, cherishing hand me downs. Ignoring pop culture and the expectations of brand names. We made do and that was more than okay. Few know, but my brothers and I were homeless and were admitted into the foster care system. We were beyond blessed to have been adopted and kept together by my real mother Ms. Tunya. Through resistance and irrelevant constant commentary, we have pushed through as a family, creating memories all the way. Even as I was forced to mature, I enjoyed my childhood and enjoyed life no matter what came my way. I have been taught a great work ethic and the importance of gratefulness.
I’m 18 years old now and college is around the corner. I must give thanks: YMLA has been a stepping stone for me. You’ve prepared me for life after high school with course loads and high expectations. And helped me build con
nections along the way. Many know me in passing. My personality is chill, laid back, but “full of swag” or so I’ve been told. I’d like to be known as a scholar who made it through, minding my own business.
I have to say, this year has been interesting. It’s had its ups and downs but it has been good. My favorite memory to date would have to be the time spent with our basketball team. I can’t put into words how much fun I’ve had. If I could change any-
thing, I would make the time between the end of our season to graduat
ion shorter. In the meantime I’ve been having fun sleeping and can’t wait to meet and make more memories with friends over the summer.
My ultimate goal in life is to just be successful and create generational wealth. In college I value the balance of the experience and educational quality. That’s why I plan to attend University of Houston majoring in media production.
In five years, I expect to own a film studio beginning to make movies.
In ten years, I will play a major role in the production of a movie.
And in twenty, I will be able to claim success. I will have directed, produced etc. a repertoire of movies.
To my supporters:
Thanks, I — real life– would not be who I am today without you.
To my closest loved ones:
Thanks for the support. Whew! It has been a journey, I love you guys!
